Frequently Asked Questions

When will the event take place and where?

Model NATO 2010 will take place between the 25th and 27th of November in Tallinn and in Viinistu. Registration will open on the 27th of October at 15.00 (GMT+2).

Who can take part in Model NATO Estonia?

MNE is meant for university students 18 and older. That is pretty much all that is required although you are expected to speak English and know a bit about NATO and foreign affairs.

    What should I bring?
  • Formal Clothes - a suit and tie for men is a must for the first day and committee work. The equivalent applies to women. Keep in mind that the debates might get rather heated and it would be advisable to invest in more than one shirt.
  • Clothes for the Banquet - a black suit and a tie for men and an evening dress for women. One should be respectful towards the host.
  • Casual clothes - there will be free time, but you might find yourself too caught up in unofficial negotiations to notice.
  • Personal hygiene products - although there's no better excuse to become acquainted with your next-door neighbour than having to borrow some toothpaste.
  • A bit of money - for those moments when you feel like you want a quick snack from the bar or to enjoy the facilities at the venue.

How will we get around Tallinn? And how will we get to the venue?

All transportation during the event will be organized by the MNE team including tickets for public transportation if necessary.

Sounds like an interesting event, how much is this going to cost me?

It is going to cost you a lot of hard work before and during the event. Otherwise all meals, lodgings and transportation is taken care of.

Is registration only in pairs?

Yes, this is so you could better prepare yourself for committee work. However, if you want to participate, but cannot find anyone else interested, mail us. Perhaps you are not the only one and we can find you a partner. If you have questions that you haven't found an answer to, mail us at info[ät]modelnato.ee
